The well at my house is dry so the family has to put these barrels on a cart and walk for about 5 minutes to a pump to get water. Its hard work. They also have to pay for the water at the pump. Many of the wells in Ouelessebougou are dry now. The rainy season should start soon and that will fill the wells back up. What will we do if it takes a long time for the rain to come?? Can you name all of the things you use water for every day?
I don't know if you can see it very well in this picture, but I have a really bad rash on my arms and hands. It is starting to spread to my chest and back now. It's because of the heat. I think it's heat rash. At first it just itched a lot, but now it stings. In the morning when I wake up, it's nearly all gone. But in the afternoon when it's very hot, the rash is very red and hurts a lot. The people here in Mali told me to buy this medicine that looks like blue water to put on it. It makes the rash feel better for a few minutes, but it's not making the rash go away. Ouch!
