Barb Curtis
Lincoln Elementary

A Microorganism Inquiry Lesson

Barb began the lesson with revisiting the previous experiences her students have had with microorganisms. Students participated in a discussion around their observations/drawings from the previous day. Barb focused on important science language students should be familiar with at this point in the unit. Barb continually connected this language to the student’s experiences. On this particular day students were asked to explore pond water with the use of the microscope.

Students were asked to make careful observations and drawings of the organisms they were able to see.
