VOLUNTEERING

Welcome to the Volunteer Program at Hawthorne Elementary.
My Name is Kathy Harvey and I am at school Monday-Thursday, 8:30-1:30.
You can always reach me at 481-4824 ext 131.

We are always in need of wonderful new volunteers. We are lucky in that we have our own room and materials.

We always need one-on-one volunteering with reading and math

Helping in the classroom

Helping with our Music department that meets on Tuesday and Thursday - especially if you are familiar with string instruments

Leading advanced Reading groups of 4-6 students

Helping with Math

We have an After School Program from 2:45-6:00 that runs each day

We have different classes and field trips every Friday that are always fun to be involved in

Helping on Field Trips, which are a lot of fun!

If you are a college student and need an opportunity to be in a multi-cultural class, or teach a math concept, or help with reading, we can make that work for you.

If you are an America Reads student on the Work Study program, we would love to have you.
