Since the establishment of Columbus Community Center in 1968, its mission has been to provide an array of vocational, residential and support services in which a youth or adult program participant who has special needs and/or disabilities, can experience a quality lifestyle in the community.

Facts about Columbus Community Center

Columbus community center serves the needs of people with disabilities in Salt Lake City, Utah and the surrounding areas.
Services provided for: personal and social development, job coaching, supported employment in the community, assessment and occupational skill training and several levels of residential support. We provide a variety of opportunities for people with disabilities to become contributing members of their communities.
Columbus is truly a community program. It was founded by concerned citizens and parents in the Salt Lake area and is now under the administrative supervision of the Salt Lake City School District in conjunction with Community Foundation for the Disabled, Inc. which is part of the infrastructure of the State of Utah.
Shared input and funding from the Utah State Division of Services for People with Disabilities (DSPD), DSPD-Central Region, Salt Lake City School District Vocational and Special Education departments, United Way of Salt Lake City, Utah Division of Rehabilitation Services, Utah Industries for the Blind, Work Force Services, and various other school districts, parent groups, and private donors.
